Blood Drive - April 27

American Red Cross Blood Drive
The American Red Cross will be holding a blood drive at Midtown Global Market on Friday, April 27 from 3pm-8pm.  Your blood is needed more than you think.
  • Every two seconds someone in America needs blood
  • More than 38,000 pints of blood are needed in the US every day
  • Only 38% of the population is eligible to donate and just a fraction of those eligible (about 8%) actually donate blood
  • The need for blood is constant and the blood supply must be regularly replenished.  That is why it is so important that generous donors like you give regularly
To be eligible to donate blood you must:
  • Be at least 17 years old (16 for whole blood with signed Red Cross parental consent form where state permits)
  • Weigh at least 110 lbs
  • Be in good health

Left Handed Cook Opening Soon

COMING SOON...
The Left Handed Cook!

Add one part American comfort food, one part Asian flavors, a dash of Rock and Roll, a pinch of country and let it simmer in the melting pot that is Los Angeles and you get The Left Handed Cook. We like to bring fun and whimsy to our food. We take our cooking and ingredients seriously so that our dishes don't have to be. Eclectic, Unique and Bold just like our taste in music and art. We strive to provide food influenced by our childhood, some might call it fusion cuisine, but we like to call it New American Country cooking.

The Left Handed Cook will be utilizing the wonderful seasonal ingredients that are available to create unique dishes and provide the opportunity to add variety to our menu. We will be offering a number of shared plates as an opportunity to experience an array of flavors and to dine in a communal setting, which is important to so many cultures.

The Left Handed Cook will be located in Suite 124 (formerly the La Sirena Gorda restaurant).

10th Annual Minnesota Tile Festival

10th Annual Minnesota Tile Festival

 September 16-17

Meet National, Local Tile and Mosaic Artists at Midtown Global Market

Festival is Free, Open to the Public!

The Handmade Tile Association is hosting the 10th Annual Minnesota Tile Festival 5pm-8pm on Friday, September 16 and 10am-5pm on Saturday, September 17 at Midtown Global Market! The festival, which is free and open to the public, showcases tile work from 60 talented tile artisans, food, and workshops on handmade tile and mosaics.

The popular event is part arts festival, part trade show - and a lot of fun for everyone! Purchase one-of-a-kind pieces, talk to tile artists about the inspiration behind their work -- including local artisans from Mercury and Bon Ton who have been featured on national television -- and learn how to incorporate handmade tile in your next home improvement project (it's more affordable than you think!).

On Friday, the National Kitchen and Bath Association is sponsoring a $250 Tile Bucks drawing, which the winner can use toward the purchase of artwork at the festival (winner must be present during the drawing to win).
